2.0 CRDi diesel injectors
Rough idle, black or white smoke from the exhaust, hard cold starts, increased fuel consumption.
Uzrok /CRDi injectors (the same family as on the Hyundai Tucson 2.0 CRDi) are sensitive to diesel quality. Local fuel quality varies, so injectors often need overhaul or replacement after 130,000 to 150,000 km - especially on heavier Sportage and Sorento versions that work under higher load.
Popravka /We start with diagnostics and a return-flow test per cylinder. If only one injector is the issue, an overhaul is cost-effective. If all are worn, we recommend a set overhaul or replacement. We always replace the copper washers and inspect the seat in the cylinder head.

Uzrok /The turbo on CRDi engines usually lasts 180,000 to 200,000 km with timely oil changes. The main killer is extended oil intervals and cheap oil that cannot withstand the temperature in the turbo bearings. On the Sportage III we especially see the VGT mechanism seized by carbon deposits.
Popravka /We decarbonise the VGT mechanism, and if the bearings are already damaged we go for a turbo overhaul or replacement. We always clean the turbo oil return line - if it is blocked, a new turbo will not last long.

Uzrok /Cee'd, Rio and Venga with 1.4 or 1.6 CVVT petrol engines use a rubber timing belt that must be changed on time. Many owners forget the interval or run past it. If the belt breaks, valves hit the pistons and the damage is expensive.
Popravka /We replace the belt together with the tensioner, idlers and water pump. We do this at 90,000 to 100,000 km regardless of age, because rubber ages even when the car is parked.

Popravka /We replace the cracked pipe and inspect all silicone couplers and clamps. We also check the intake pressure sensor because it can be fouled by oil mist from the crankcase breather.

If you run LPG on a Cee'd or Sportage, drive on petrol occasionally so the upper cylinder area stays lubricated and the gas injectors do not clog up.

Check the timing belt condition regularly on CVVT engines - a preventive belt change avoids expensive valve damage.

On diesel versions, drive on the open road at least 20 minutes once a week so the DPF can regenerate properly.
