SBC brake module on W211 E-Class
Brake warning on dash, odd pedal feel, SBC fault in diagnostics. In bad cases the system blocks and the car cannot be driven.
Uzrok /Electronic SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) has a limited number of cycles. When it reaches the end it first logs a fault, then blocks the braking system.
Popravka /First diagnostics to see if it is the pump or only codes that can be reset. If the pump is done, full SBC module replacement with proper coding - a Mercedes specific job.
E-Class (W211)01 /SBC brake module on W211 E-Class

Popravka /Replacement of the specific air bag or full set, cleaning the compressor. In some cases we recommend switching to conventional shocks on high-mileage cars.

Mercedes needs quality oil to MB spec. Do not save on oil, especially on diesels - timing chain wears faster with poor oil.

On older E-Class and ML with Airmatic, check ride height every morning - leaning is an early sign of bag failure.
- 03 /
Do not ignore SBC warnings on W211. When the light comes on, it is time for the workshop.

On M271 and M272 listen for cold start rattle. 2-3 seconds of metallic knock is an early timing signal.
- 05 /
Regular EGR and intake cleaning extends OM642 turbo life. Short trips kill this engine.

Do not let AdBlue run dry on newer diesels - the car can enter permanent safe mode after a set number of starts.
