    Uneven running, black or white exhaust smoke, higher fuel use, hard starting, roaring under load.

    Uzrok /The 2.0 CRDi injectors are sensitive to fuel quality, and our fuel quality varies. We see cars with 120,000-150,000 km already needing injector repair. Water in the tank and a neglected fuel filter speed up the damage.

    Popravka /Injector bench testing, return flow test, and either rebuild or replacement. In the same job we replace the fuel filter and check the high pressure pump condition.

    Turbocharger on CRDi engines

    Power loss, turbo whistle without full boost, oil in the intercooler, black smoke at full throttle.

    Uzrok /Turbochargers on CRDi engines usually last 180,000-200,000 km if the engine is serviced regularly. Problems appear when cheap oil is used or oil change intervals are stretched - coked oil ruins the turbo bearings from the inside.

    Popravka /Turbo condition diagnostics, oil inspection, turbo rebuild or replacement, intercooler and intake pipe cleaning. We explain to the owner why the right oil and service interval are critical for turbo life.

    Timing belt on 1.4 and 1.6 petrols

    Rattling or whining from the front of the engine, rough idle, higher fuel use, engine warning light.

    Uzrok /Hyundai 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines (Accent, i20, i30, Getz) run a timing belt with an 80,000-100,000 km life. An overdue belt is what destroys engines - a broken belt on this engine means bent valves and an expensive rebuild.

    Popravka /Preventive timing belt replacement with a full kit - tensioners and water pump. We never wait for a belt to fail - the preventive cost is a fraction of an engine rebuild.

    Clutch and flywheel on i20 and i30

    Clutch slip under load, soft clutch pedal, burning smell, hard gear changes.

    Uzrok /The clutch on the i20 and i30 with 1.4 and 1.6 engines wears faster in city driving. On older models the flywheel can also weaken. Owners driving short trips with frequent starts from rest hit this problem earliest.

    Popravka /Clutch replacement, flywheel if needed. We also check the clutch hydraulics and slave cylinder since they can also cause slip. Using a quality kit that survives our driving conditions is the key.

    DPF filter on CRDi diesels

    DPF warning light, power loss, limp mode, fuel smell in oil, higher fuel use.

    Uzrok /Hyundai CRDi engines in city driving and short trips suffer the standard DPF problem. On the Tucson it is even worse - the car is heavier, the engine works harder, and soot builds up faster.

    Popravka /Diagnostics and forced regeneration, mechanical DPF cleaning, EGR and temperature sensor check. If the DPF is physically damaged, we replace it. We explain to the owner how to drive so that regeneration actually happens.

    Suspension - bushings, balljoints and rear bearings on the i30

    Knocking over bumps, humming that grows with speed, steering vibration, uneven tyre wear.

    Uzrok /The Hyundai i30 is known for rear wheel bearings that start humming after 100,000-120,000 km. Anti-roll bar bushings on the Tucson and Santa Fe take more stress since the car is heavier, lasting 40,000-60,000 km on our roads.

    Popravka /Rear wheel bearing, anti-roll bar bushing and balljoint replacement as needed. Hyundai suspension is not expensive, but it needs regular inspection. Shocks usually last 80,000-100,000 km.

    DSI 6-speed automatic gearbox

    Jerking on shifts, lag when pressing the throttle, dashboard error, uneven acceleration.

    Uzrok /The 6-speed DSI automatic on older Santa Fe models needs clean ATF fluid, and owners often do not know when to change it. Degraded fluid ruins valve bodies and solenoids, and gearbox repair is expensive.

    Popravka /ATF change to the factory specification, solenoid and TCM diagnostics. For smaller issues that is enough - for bigger ones we arrange a full inspection and overhaul.

    Hyundai 1.6 CRDi EGR and intake

    Power loss, rough idle, higher fuel use, black smoke under load, check engine light.

    Uzrok /The EGR valve on the 1.6 CRDi engine (i30, i40, Tucson) clogs with carbon - a classic modern diesel problem. Short trips and city driving speed up the clogging. The intake manifold gets gummed up over time.

    Popravka /Removing, cleaning or replacing the EGR valve, cleaning carbon deposits from the intake. In harder cases also DPF ash cleaning and temperature sensor checks. We explain how to avoid repeats.
