Pass Your Inspection the First Time
Nobody enjoys failing a vehicle inspection. Wasted time, a return trip, extra costs. The easiest way to avoid all of that is to have the car checked before you go. We inspect exactly what the inspectors look at and sort out any problems in advance.
The Most Common Reasons Cars Fail
Based on our experience, these are the items that cause vehicles to fail most often:
- Lights - blown bulb, misaligned headlights, faulty turn signals
- Brakes - worn pads, uneven braking force left to right
- Suspension - loose ball joints, worn bushings, cracked springs
- Exhaust system - leaks, noise, emissions outside limits
- Tires - tread depth below the minimum, mismatched tires on the same axle
- Windshield - crack in the driver's line of sight
- Wipers - worn blades that do not clean properly
- Handbrake - not holding strongly enough
- Corrosion - on structural body parts
What We Check Before the Inspection
Lighting System
We check every bulb: low beam, high beam, sidelights, brake lights, fog lights, turn signals, and the number plate light. We adjust the headlight aim if needed.
Braking System
We check pad and disc thickness, brake hose condition, fluid level, and handbrake operation.
Suspension
We inspect ball joints, bushings, shock absorbers, springs, and stabilizer links. If something is knocking or loose, it will not pass the inspection.
Exhaust System
We check for leaks and make sure the system is complete. We listen for any unusual noises.
Tires
We measure tread depth, check the overall condition, and confirm that the tires on each axle are the correct size and matching type.
Everything Else
Wipers, washer fluid, horn, mirrors, seat belts, and windshield condition.
Our Process
- Full check against the list of items examined at the inspection
- Report - we tell you what is wrong and what needs fixing
- Agreement - we decide together what to address now
- Repair - we fix the problems
- Final check - we go through the list again to make sure everything is covered
Practical Tips for the Technical Inspection
- Come to us at least a day or two before the inspection so there is time for any repairs
- Clean the car. A dirty car leaves a bad impression and makes it harder to inspect the components
- Bring all your paperwork: registration document and insurance
- Make sure you have a first aid kit, warning triangle, and reflective vest
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a pre-inspection check cost?
The basic check is affordable. Any repairs are agreed on separately and depend on the condition of the vehicle.
How long does the preparation take?
The check itself takes about an hour. If minor repairs are needed (bulbs, wipers, headlight adjustment), those can be done on the spot. Larger work takes more time.
Do you guarantee I will pass?
We cannot guarantee it because the inspection is carried out by different people who may apply different standards. But we can guarantee that we will check all the standard items and fix any issues we find.
When is the best time to come?
Ideally 3-5 days before your scheduled inspection. That gives enough time for both the check and any repairs or parts ordering.
Can I come just for the check without the repair?
Of course. You can come just to find out the current state of the car. You can have the repairs done whenever it suits you.
Inspection Coming Up?
Do not go unprepared. Call us or come in for a check. Half an hour with us is better than standing in line for the inspection a second time. We will go through every item and tell you exactly where things stand.
